What are must do things for this machine? My aging G72 Win7 will remain my primary; this I bought specifically for running Serato. I wanted an ultra-reliable platform that wouldn't get bogged down and would serve this function exclusively.

Having said that, what should I absolutely do?

Yeah, I'm going to piggyback on Raf's thread here too. I bought a MBP Retina back in December, and since then basically all I've done with it is surf the web. If y'all are PMing Raf with advice, I'd appreciate a cc.

Depends what you want to do with it.

I love TextWrangler for HTML coding, FileZilla for FTP uploads, and GrowlyNotes as a digital notebook. All are free.

On the paid end, for writing anything significant, you can't really beat Scrivener.

I bought specifically for running Serato. Maybe Traktor and Ableton eventually.
