The Glade 4.0

I'm not really sure what this would be called, so I wanted to throw it out there and see if A) anyone knew of any good software for it, or B) if anyone knew the technical name for which I could search.

I'm looking for a piece of software to program a 24-hour day/7-day week, so that I can set up blocks (either 1/2 hour or full hour) and drag them in, then stretch them across multiple days (to strip the shows), etc. Excel can do this kinda-but-not-really. I want drag-and-drop pulled from a finite pool, so that I can easily see what's already on the schedule and what I have available to use.

Any thoughts?

Something like Microsoft Project?

That was my first thought, too, Midgen, but then I second-guessed myself because I don't know it well enough to know whether the finite pool thing would be supported.
