There is an additional problem he could be having with the EPUB format, depending on where he got the books in question from. Apple came under fire recently for their official publication software saving in an EPUB format that was not standards-compliant. It was an under-handed attempt to force everyone with EPUBs to use Apple software and hardware.

I am aware Farsky has numerous Apple products, and it is likely he's just run afoul of Apple's standards tomfoolery.

They're EPUBs I created myself from Kindle MOBI files by using Calibre to strip the DRM and convert them. I've successfully opened them with no problem in iBooks on my iOS devices, as well as Aldiko and some other EPUB readers from the Play store, but haven't been impressed by the design and display of any of those Android apps. They did, however, offer the ability to 'open with' when they were installed.

So no, I don't think it's that.

If it does, Android doesn't recognize that it does when I task it with opening an EPUB file. Even with Nook and Kobo (which I think also handles EPUBs) installed, it sez I need to download a program that can support that file type and doesn't give me an "open with" option.

I just double-checked, and yes, Nook's native format is epub.

I think the problem you may be having is that Nook doesn't have a file browser -- it only opens stuff in its own content directory or in the "My Documents" folder in the Nook directory. If you've got a file manager, you can navigate to it and put your epub in there. Then, Nook will pick it up no problem.

That was it, by the way. That Poetic case is super-nice, btw. I was impressed enough when I received it today to immediately hop on and order their Kindle Paperwhite case as well.

I recently received my LTE version of the new N7 2013. I also have the Poetic case and love both very much.

I pretty much carry this thing everywhere with me, and use it frequently.

Oh, that's out? Well, shoot. New Nexus 7, or hold off for the upcoming new Nexus phone? I get pretty heavy use out of both...

Well, first order of business is probably to see if Star Citizen's going to make any moves on my wallet tomorrow at its anniversary... lol.

I like the Nexus 7, and I find myself relying on it more and more in place of my iPad mini, soley for its retina screen, but...that ridiculous bezel situation still gets me. If they'd squared it up a bit, it'd be boss, but six feet of bezel at the top and bottom and 3 millimeters on the sides with no thumb ignorance is no way to go through life, son.
