The problem with good 3D content is that it's only available with premium channel packages. If I had access to ESPN's 3D broadcasts I'd be all over it, it's awesome.

I wear cumbersome glasses to watch TV and play game all the time. You sighted individuals are a bunch of whiny *****.

Yes, because eyeglasses and active-shutter 3D glasses are the same.

Eyeglasses and passive 3D glasses are very similar. My LG passive set is awesome, and cheap to replace.

My biggest complaint about the current generation of 3D glasses is that I'm wearing two pair of lenses on my face.

Have you looked into LASIK? Best $3000 I ever spent.

Clip on lenses for people that already wear glasses, been around for years - http://www.amazon.com/LG-AG-F220-Cinema ... B00540XS32

It's definitely on my list of things to do before I turn 40.

It's worth it, sooner rather than later. It made life in general so much easier to dispense with glasses - just being able to wear any set of sunglasses whenever you want is an incredible convenience.

People act differently towards you, too. It's noticeable.

My line of work is such that the social implications of wearing glasses is a positive. The bigger deal is the change in vision. Mine is terrible.

I was thinking more of the wimminz... not that it matters anymore since I was married 5 years when I got it, but the attitude of random women towards me is.. different.

Well... my statement stands.

It's not that I don't think it's a nice side-effect, but you gotta consider where that's coming from. Glasses portrays a nerd image. That's pretty much it. You gotta realize that I work in a university where I teach math and science. If glasses are going to be a turn-off for a woman, brother, wait 'till she finds out what I do.

heh.. there is that.

I don't get the impression it's the "nerd image" though. Maybe it's just something about they way I in particular look without glasses.

Or it's a reaction to how you behave without them. If you've never liked them and thought they projected a certain image that you didn't like (something that I think could pretty safely be said about most people who opt for Lasik), then it wouldn't surprise me if people reacted to your new attitude without them.

I went the other direction -- my eyes finally gave out (both my parents were nearsighted, so it was only a matter of time, I figured. I'm amazed my vision held steady at 20/20 for as long as it did) two years ago. Since it was something I'd kind of figured would happen, I just kind of shrugged and accepted it. I've noticed no difference in the way people treat me since adopting glasses, aside from the couple months of "oh, I didn't know you wore glasses" comments.

That might be, although I always disliked the inconveniences they caused far more than their appearance. Then again, maybe being free of the inconvenience gave me a better attitude in some way.
