Just replaced the battery in my wife's netbook.

Spoiler:
> The battery should be used with the compatible laptop.
> Stay away from fire, high temperature to avoid the explosion.
> Do not try to disassemble the battery to avoid short circuit.
> Stay away from any liquid, such as water.
> Do not use the broken battery or the battery with corrosion.
> Do not knock out the battery violently or press too hard or do any action like that because some liquid may came out, and the liquid is corrosive.
> Please keep the battery out of the children's reach.
> Please wash away with the clean water or get doctor's advice immediately if you did touch the liquid unfortunately.
> Recommend to charge the battery at temperature of 5C-35C. The battery capacity will be reduced because of delayed chemical reaction at the low temperatures, while the battery may be exploded at the high temperatures.
> Please keep a spare battery ready in a warm place in the cold weather.
> Use a clean dry cloth or eraser to clean the battery if necessary.
> Please follow appropriate treatment regulations to put into local designated collection point or container.

Best tip, don't bother changing netbook batteries.

His wife doesn't get new electronics until she can manage not to break the ones she already has.

It took $13, and is now a fully functional Linux device. I'm not sure how that wasn't cost efficient. I should instead have done what? Spent $200 or more on something that won't be used in any materially more computing-intensive fashion? Maybe if I was an Apple fanbois with a shiny fetish, that would make sense.

Who said anything about being cost efficient?
