my slightly less than two year old gaming laptop (still under warranty) was overheating every time I used the GPU in games (2GB nVidia GTX675M.)

After one week free repair I got it back, with a brand new 3GB GTX870M in it.

Which basically means my gaming laptop is now good for current games for another couple years, barring hardware failure.

Well, that's awesome. What company has such great service, and did you buy the extended warranty?

MSI, and no. It came with a 2 year warranty.

I have an issue with their warranty -- I actually drove an hour to drop off my laptop at the repair depot because unlike ASUS, they don't cover shipping both ways for warranty repair. That'd be a real pain if I were in a remote location.

But other than that, their service was great.

I had things to do in Toronto anyway, and it was on the way.

Also note that it's an 18" laptop and combined weight with the PSU and laptop is about 12 lbs. I'd be about $40 to fedex it, and it's about 10 liters of gas to drive it round trip (so about $13).

Furthermore, by dropping it off the entire RMA process took me 9 days. I got it back yesterday, and I'm going away on Thursday. I want it when I go! Timing.
