Dude, did you see that pixel? The one in the clouds, that's too dark? Totally tell-tale. |

...holy ****. That right there is some serious "CSI enhance! enhance! enhance!" voodoo o_O Ugh. Photoshop gives me so many reasons to hate it, and yet... Edit/update: Whoops, gonna have to retract that. It seems that the Resynthesizer plugin for Gimp has done this for years: Gimp still sucks for not having adjustment layers, though. That one omission makes it thoroughly useless to me. If they ever get their **** together add adjustment layers, though...good riddance, photoshop! Edit 2: For the record, the above video was made using low-res images ripped from the Photoshop demonstration video. The minor foibles you see are mostly due to using clunky, low res source images instead of the full res versions that Photoshop was working with. Apples =/= Oranges, in other words. |

Oh, and here's a good 720p demonstration. I don't know what's up with the creepy voice. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6OOYnZyY2rs |

The algorithms that do this must be extremely complicated. |

I'm completely torn about this. On one hand, I'm excited and amazed at the possibilities of this, and how cool this technology is. On the other hand, as a Photoshop user since version 4, I'm furious that they are making it so easy to do things that we've painstakingly done "by hand" for years. Yes, it makes it quicker and easier for us to do these tasks now. But it also makes it feel like, "any monkey with a copy of Photoshop can do that now." There is SO much more that you can do with Photoshop, if you know what you are doing. And I really am ecstatic that they are making such wonderful advancements. But the general public seems to think that the program does all the work for you. And while that's partly true (especially in the case of this video), you still have to know what tools are available and how to use them. With that being said, I'm really excited to see what other advancements they have in store for the next version of Photoshop. Both CS3 and CS4 have added some AMAZING new features, and it looks like this next version will be no different. |

Content-aware fill is a nice feature, but the photos shown in these demonstrations were hand-picked for a reason. Yes, it will facilitate faster photo editing for an experienced user, but anyone hoping to just automatically get rid of buildings etc. will be disappointed. |
