So I picked up my htc hd2 last week and I've just gotta say it's such an amazing phone, I'm getting used to the swype keyboard, not as fast as on my old fuze but still pretty good and the screen is amazing, web browsing is so good on this phone, seems more like a MID in that regards than a phone, the camara is amazing, auto flash, 5mp, extremely fast focus and capture, in some ways I like it better than my real camera. there are a few quirks with the rom it came with but overall I'm very satisfied with it.

oh and the video quality is so good too, it came with transformers 1 & 2 which looks great and I put some subtitled anime on it, with the screen size it works great, can read the subtitles just fine.

Im kinda torn about this phone. I'm interested in the processing speed and many of the other features, but the lack of a real keyboard, worries me. It also doesnt seem very 'pocket' friendly.

You should stop by a try out one of the demo's for the keyboard, while it's not as fast as a physical one, or at least I can't type on it as fast as my Fuze it's very good and i'm getting faster with it everyday since I text a lot.

As for pocket friendly it seems just fine to me, and womens jeans generally have smaller pockets and are tighter fitting, while it has a much larger screen than the iPhone there's a lot less bezel so it's not a whole lot bigger, overall I find it more pocketable than my Fuze was due to the thickness.

Meh, not upgradeable isn't really a downside IMO, WP7 is technically speaking is a huge downgrade from WM6.5, no true multi-tasking, no backwards compatability, no custom UI's (and HTC sense is way better than WP7's), no opened app install (app store only), no ability to change default browsers/search from pocket IE and bing, no copy and past, there's only one thing it brings to the table that WM6.5 doesn't have, x-box intergration, otherwise it's all downgrades.

I actually really don't get why people are making such a big deal about the lack of upgradability, WP7 is basically the iPhone with an uglier interface and without the rabid fanboys/girls that will buy anything with their logo on it like Apple has.

And I do understand about the no physical keyboard, i've always said the same thing, that I would never ever get a phone without out, but this phone did convince me otherwise.

Well, I take the upgrade part back. My bad, I thought an advance in OS would be a *good* thing.

The WinMo thing still stands though. I had an XV6800 (?) and it was the worst phone I ever had. The Treo was alright, but the OS was still asstastic.

Course, its not really fair to compare either of those previous phones (or even my bberry curve) to Android at the moment.

Meh, seems like there's so much hate for windows mobile, but i'm convinced people who have that hate haven't used it in ages, since like 5.0 or something, The only currently phone OS I haven't used is Android, but between blackberry OS, iPhone and WM6.5 I find windows mobile to be the most capable and nicest looking, I mean sure if you were to go by the stock WM interface maybe I can see the issue, but no phones are sold without reskinned OS's, everything is very finger friendly nicely layed out on HTC's sense interface.
