I've got an old Nad 533 - very simple deck with a decent Rega 250 tonearm. All the money went on the tonearm and motor, no gimmicks, just an MDF platter and deck, etc.

I'm considering a significant cartridge upgrade... Maybe a Goldring 1122 or 2400 - anyone out there into this kind of nerdy hifi stuff? ;-p

I wish.

I have neither the money (I already have a money sponge hobby) or the ideal place (sound wise) for a nice set up like that.

Shame too, as I still have all of my Fathers old LP's, some of which are very old (78's etc...), including Bing Crosby, Jim Reeves, Johnny Cash, and Elvis Presley box sets. I'd like to listen to these on nice set up.

Unfortunately, they are probably headed to craigslist :(

Unless you need the money I'd keep them... you never know when you might be able to get a deck to listen to them on and memories of the parentals can mean a lot later on.

I don't need the money at all (I'm not even sure how much they are worth).

I just don't have room for them. They are taking up valuable space in my basement-turned-guitar building shop.

I have them all archived as .mp3s as it is. This is a project my father undertook in the years before he died. Unfortunately, being miserly as he was, he bought the cheapest rig he could to record them with, so the mp3 quality isn't the best.

My sister is sick of looking at them too. It's definitely not music she would listen to, and she would love for them to just disappear. I'm a bit sentimental about them, but that is waning lately. :D
