Figured I might toss this up here since I've exhausted just about all of my other options. I'm basically trying to figure out a way to reduce a video's file size without horribly destroying it's quality. The original uncompressed files are MPEG-4 720P video files. My goal is to reduce the file size to make them much more manageable when uploading. Any help would be appreciated. |

H.264 Quicktime MOVs are my preferred compression, but H.264 MPEG-4s are the best for web, particularly if you're shooting for an end-use file type. Great file size, great quality. MPEG Streamclip is a great tool for compression. Download it, VLC, and a bunch of codec packs to give you more options, but the trick with codecs is making sure your intended audience has the right tools for playback...which is a pain. Stick to the big ones, and H.264 is the standard. |

The intended audience will typically be for uploading it to my youtube channel. Thanks for the reply Farsky. I'll take a look. |
