I have a boneyard pc: Athalon 1.2 256 mb ram and a paltry 16 Meg Tv out card. It's running windows xp and it's sole purpose is to run hulu and like sites to my TV. The video seems laggy ever so slightly, but the audio streams well with no stopping or stuttering 1. Am I right in assuming the card is the bottleneck? 2. Would switching To Linux (from xp) help and avoid having to sink money into the project? |

Something you may want to try - I had issues with audio not being in sync with video I composed on XP (I used several different video composition software packages, same results). After MANY iterations of install and test, it turned out that something associated with .net was the culprit. I reinstalled and did not elect to put the .net stuff on and everything was good. |

I might just try the Linux changeover. now that I think about it. i've probably got another drive so I can swap and go back if I'm unhappy. Can anyone reccomend a distro for what i'm trying to accomplish. |
