Brute force attack on ATT servers to get iPad user info...

Investigators accused Daniel Spitler and Andrew Auernheimer of using an "account slurper" to conduct a "brute force" attack over five days last June, to extract data about iPad users who accessed the Internet through AT&T Inc's 3G network.

I always laughed when Apple people said their systems were hack and virus proof. At the time Mac users were about .5-2% of the population. Now that they are so broadly accepted we'll see how much stuff hackers start pulling off their "air-tight" systems.

While I don't disagree, this was a compromise of at&ts systems, not a consumer apple device. iPads are actually pretty secure - the same stuff that makes them user hostile in terms of installing your own stuff is actually also a significant obstacle to getting malware executed.

The OSX stack is pretty good. iOS then takes it a bit further.
