Installed some in-wall speakers this weekend for surrounds. They sound awesome, totally worth the PITA crawling around in the attic and dropping cable. :) Anyone else have in-walls? These are HSU's - http://www.hsuresearch.com/products/hiwspeaker.html

No. I'm envious though ;-p my walls are concrete (srsly. not breezeblock.) so... not happening here ;-p

They look keen. Do they sound good too?

I would love to put in-wall speakers in my livingroom and bedroom. Alas I live in a condo and share walls on either side, and there are rules prohibiting such things. =)

Yup, they sound great so far, should sound even better as they continue breaking in. I went with the same brand to match the rest of my speakers and you can really tell when sound is rotating around the room, the timbre matches very well. One continuous soundstage.

Concrete walls, wow! Guess you could at least drill in some mounts to hang normal speakers (with a big enough drill). :)

A nice Dewalt and the proper lugs will do the trick.

I have a dewalt sds ;-p used it to put up all the shelves and mount the plasma on the wall, but it really isn't going to make a hole big enough for in wall speakers ;-p

A hammer drill and some C-4 should do the trick. :p
