YouTube changed something and now I can't log in anymore. I have 3 years worth of music videos uploaded....I cannot access my account anymore because of their changes and the email address that I have linked to the account is my old University email that no longer even exists. YouTube help articles say I'm screwed. WTF! How can you just do this to people??? |

Create a new account. Download all your old videos, you should be able to access them. Upload them from your new account. Tell YouTube the old account is obsolete, and why, and to please remove them. And so I won't be so calm and cool when you're so upset, damn YouTube, how could those moronic billionaires do that to you!!! |

darn tootin! Stupid youtube/google alliance crap! I need to rant about AT&T too...we are not getting the speed we are paying for...it takes me an hour and a half to upload one video. No way I'm going to be able to download and upload 3-4 years worth of videos. I may just have to start over from scratch or something. |

I'm confused... did they link your youtube and google account? or unlink them? |

This is probably a dumb question, but did you try logging in with your gmail account? |

I'm wondering why you never changed the email address associated with Youtube? |

my original email address for youtube is one that I no longer have...Address A. So I log in successfully to youtube with my gmail account with Address A and then it asks for my youtube login. So I type in my youtube login which is my username and password, but they automatically tack on an @gmail.com to my youtube username because the username also happens to be the same as my primary google account (Address B), just with an @gmail.com at the end of it...so they do that and then I have to put in my gmail password for that account and then they want me to log in with my youtube account again and it says "sorry there is already an account associated with that log-in." It's a vicious loop. I filled out when of those stupid feedback forms but who knows if they'll ever get to me. I've tried the unlinking page and everything but nothing works and I can't change things through the original email account they linked it to because that email address does not exist anymore....if they had given advanced warning, I could have changed it. Pretty crappy of them to do this...I'm sure I'm not the only one who got screwed. |

I'm not sure I totally follow your description, so I may be totally misunderstanding this, but this sounds like your browser auto-completing form fields, not anything that gmail/youtube is doing. |

I agree with Stathol about this possibility. Try a different browser. |

Thank you Stathol. I tried IE instead of Chrome and after repeating the same process a few times finally managed to log in and was taken to a screen where I had to either resend the verification email to my old email address or a new one...I tried putting in my other gmail address and got an error saying "this account may not have a gmail address associated with it" (stf?) so I created a new hotmail account and got an error message saying that email was already being used even though that's impossible since I just created it...I think I figured out that since my youtube user name and my gmail address are the same except for the @gmail at the end that it confused the system because the email I created at hotmail was the same user name just with an @hotmail at the end of it...soooooooooooo...I created another hotmail address, put that in successfully, got the verification email and now I am able to log-in successfully as the original account that I had no stinking problem with before they started all this crap. Seriously, what was the freaking point of all of that?? |
