So my CPU fan starting spluttering last week, so I bought a replacement. Problem is the new one is quite loud.. Any of you know a good quiet fan for an AM2/AM2+ socket? |

Corsair H50/H70 would be my vote wont hear a thing from it. H50 being cheaper and does not have the Push/pull fan, I added a 2nd fan to lower CPU temps another 3 degree's. Enclosed CPU water cooler. I love it, comes with every mounting bracket for it as well. Not the cheapeast CPU cooler, but with a massive video card, I much prefer this over many aftermarket cooler's, doesnt take up much room. The 80mm fan doing exhaust is pretty quite, its sitting next to me and i hear my ceiling fan over my PC. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... _-35181010 |

I suppose I should have put that in my original post >_> |

The cheapest option by far is to keep your original heatsink and just replace the bad fan. If it's a stock AMD fan, I'm pretty sure it's a standard 80mm fan mount. Delta brand if I'm not mistaken, but that doesn't really matter. You just need something with roughly the same RPM and CFM specs. Doesn't matter if it's technically a "case fan", or whatever. This will likely run you less than $10. |

Not that I know off hand, I have done what Strathol has mentioned in the pass to great success, find a cheap low dBA case fan and just mount it on the stock heat sick. $10-$15 |

I basically have this CPU fan. Super happy with it. Amazing cooling and quiet. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6835118223 |

I've been using variations of that Zalman for years with great success. It's pretty big and might be tight in smaller cases, but it's otherwise quiet and efficient.... |
