So I had a Linksys WRT120N, just after it broke 14 months of service I began having issues with the WiFi not connecting occasionally. In order to get the wireless network to re-establish I had to unplug the router anywhere from 15 seconds to 30 minutes. Usually computers plugged in via Ethernet cable would continue to work fine.

I went to the local Fry's electronics and was chatting with one of the computer associates. She was saying that she had been seeing more and more of the Linksys home routers having these issues where just outside of the warranty period the router would start having issues with the Antenna.

I got the Netgear WNDR3400 N600 as a replacement, but has anyone else heard of this?

Nope, hadn't heard that.

I have noticed that some routers run really hot. I have several, I use them as bridges and media servers. Some don't last long, and there seems to be a correlation, but I'm not really sure.
