I got the assistance I needed. Thanks for the PMs (As opposed to PMS).

Basically, I wanted to know if I digitally signed a Word document and sent it to someone not in my company, if the signature would remain and still be considered valid. The answer was yes, signature remains, but no it's not considered verified because the CA is unreachable.
