I just use flash block and ad block plus with my google chrome
very nice for blocking annoying pop-ups and advertisements, though I have to manually allow specific flash objects to run like youtube videos, etc. which can be annoying

I hadn't paid much attention to the Chrome App store until someone told me about the IE Tab app. The last crappy intranet site that is IE Specific loads with this, so I now officially have no reason to load IE .. ever =) It got me browsing around the app store, and wow.. I had no idea there was so much stuff.. https://chrome.google.com/webstore/category/home Here are the most popular. https://chrome.google.com/webstore/category/popular I'm hesitant to install a bunch of crap, as the speediness is one of the things I like most about Chrome, and I don't want to bog it down. I did install a couple of passive apps, that are pretty cool. Notably the Kindle Reader. Some of them, like Picasa and Gmail, are nothing more than links to those sites. Oh, and Angry Birds is a lot easier with a mouse :p |

I don't use Adblock and Flashblock anymore because I trust websites to give the best user experience they can. Usually it works out. |

There's a difference between good user experience, and good user conversion. Companies are interested in conversion or ROI, not how much you like the website. This is why we see flash ads taking up full screens, overriding main content for a quick visual effect, etc. |

Sites that automatically scroll the page up and down to temporarily enlarge ads, or that put full screen popups, or even small popups over the content, quickly get added to my do not visit list. I'm playing with adblock now. It seems to have improved the experience I get at the Seattle Times site, which can get to intolerable levels of interruption at times. |
