doesn't it seem like for the oakleys, they used a lower velocity round?

Also, does anyone own a pair of bulletproof sunglasses, or have a brand to recommend?

I'm thinking about getting some Gargoyle Intimidators.

See, I was thinking about getting some Poker Sunglasses , some Blue Shark Optics, with the mirror finish, but then realized people can just see your cards in the mirror. So I opted for something a bit cooler. Why not have superb eye-protection, AND style?

In 56 years, I can't remember a bullet ever impacting my sunglasses. If one did I don't think I have sufficient reaction time to make a difference before the next low velocity small caliber bullet finds an unarmored spot to seek vital function innards.

Glam gear, not to be taken seriously.

I know but I figure if it's bullet proof it must be very durable and wont break easily or scratch easily.

That wasn't a bullet impacting the lenses, it was a BB.

Yup, they're BBs.
Yeah, it kinda looks like the ones hitting the "other sunglasses" might have been going faster.
The ones hitting the Oakleys also happened to be copper while the ones hitting the "other sunglasses" are steel.

And speaking as someone who used to do weekend Airsofting and saw a friend's sunglasses get broken by a stray shot while he was wearing them, I'd say "impact-resistant" is a feature that has value.

Yeah I dont do airsoft or shooting or anything but I just figured since I sat on my last pair I want something very durable, why not go to the extreme?

It's worth pointing out that materials science guys consider sitting on something and shooting it with a BB very different stresses.

A. "My sunglasses are bulletproof."

I've had several pairs of Oakley glasses, and I'll probably never buy another brand.
