My husband infected my computer with an insidious and brilliant scareware trojan. I love the irony of how I beat it.

Went and found a registration code/serial number for the scareware trojan, to trick it into thinking i'd paid it's $39.99 protection scheme money so it would fade into the background and let me work on removing it.

Serialz to the rescue!

Do you know how / where he managed to get it? My wife is notoriously good at finding these types of things too and I want to avoid them if at all possible.

It may be best to just PM me an answer as I rarely get to the site any more (something woke me up and I haven't gone back to sleep yet).

Meh. I've seen too many cases of this type of trojan show up at work, where web filters block most of the questionable sites, and nobody has any idea how they got it.
