I'm gonna grab it, but I should have a free copy waiting for me. I just haven't had access to my rMBP yet to get the serial. Irked that the Facebook integration isn't coming 'til fall, but the bird gets immediate inclusion. I know it's because Twitter's a lot more open than FB, but still. |

My point is that Windows Phone design principles and Windows 8 are not far removed, and Microsoft seems very interested in creating a unified and social ecosystem much like Apple has. |

And if they follow through with that, I'll probably hold off of 8 until 7's no longer supported, and then convert to something else.And Farskeee, it's not just my Facebook rage that fuels this. I would have serious privacy concerns when a closed-system (Microsoft) shop starts getting chummy with an information-selling clearinghouse (Facebook, other social media) and integrating logins and such between the two. The only reason I can tolerate Android and Chrome is because they're not closed system, so they're much easier for watchdog groups to keep an eye on. |

There's no information selling going on here, though. The system is only accessing already-public information given by each company's API. No different than using your browser and hoping that Google doesn't decide to steal your bank login information. |

MS hasn't made any indication that it will be built in at a system level yet, but the first Win8 preview did have a "People" application that tied into Facebook. I bet they'll leave it to apps for the first round but if people want integration bad enough I wouldn't be surprised to see system-level integration with Windows 8 SP1. |

It's the system-level integration that bothers me. Let's put it this way. If your bank offered a Facebook app, would you use it? I wouldn't. Similarly, I wouldn't want to use anything integrated into Facebook as a platform to use anything that accesses my banking info. |

Sure, because other than style differences it would be forced to use the exact same protocols and have access to the exact same information as an official or third party Facebook application would have. You're trying to create a distinction where there is none. |

The "multi monitor" full screen support is a load of horse ****. You can choose which screen you want to use, but it still leaves the other monitor COMPLETELY useless. **** idiots. Biggest disappointment for me. and while we're on issues of disappointment, Twitter isn't even really built in. You can't even make a global hotkey for it :/ |

Counterpoint to that would be anyone with a smart TV already being able to stream content from their laptop to the TV. Using Airplay with gaming might be cool, but I hear it can be laggy and the requirement of having an Apple TV to use it irks me. It's most likely a feature that unfortunately I'll never get to use. New disappointment: realizing that the "Power Nap" feature only works with flash-based laptops which means my 2011 MBP can't use it. |

My rMBP is now more rMBP ... though I remain skeptical of how many features I will use. I think I will install a Linux Image soon though, just because I want to test some stuff. I won't be removing OSX, yet or any time in the near future. |

Oh hells yes. I had a 2008 MBP and I was definitely showing its age...I can't imagine an '06 (granted, I put laptops pretty heavily through their paces; HD video editing is a harsh mistress). |
