Does anyone know of a good HD projector? The new house has a finished basement, and I'm turning the largest room (which is windowless) into something I've wanted for years...a theater! FYI, the room is 19.5' long, so that's about the length of throw the projector needs. Wall size for the screen is 10' 10" w x 7' 9" h. Cheaper is better, of course. 'Ere's a pic of the video from the current projector I inherited (it's an old SD Epson project). I have the Optoma HD66 and it's worked great for me so far. However, I have a feeling you're looking for something a little more high end. I remember hearing good things about the HD20 when I was doing my research though. It was just out of my price range. |

Hmm. Turns out that once I got an HDMI -> VGA convertor, this projector will actually do 720p. Not perfect, as it's definitely a business projector and not a cinema project (so the color's a bit naff), but it'll do, pig. Nice stopgap until I can get a proper 1080p one (and a screen). I may sell that 70" TV to get a really good projector (and seats). Not exactly a proper place in the new house for it, anyway. |
