URGE TO KILL RISING.

Reconsider your urge to kill when you realize you have to live in the sticks to get that ;)

But didn't he just move to a place decidedly non-sticky?

They just bumped up their plans, in fact.

$58 used to get you 30 up/down, now it's 50 up/down.
$70 used to get you 50 up/down, now it's 100 up/down.
$140 used to get you 100 up/down, now it's 250 up/down.
The top end is still 1000 up/down, but they dropped the price $50/mo, so it's now $300.

Edit: clarification; it was the speeds that were raised, not the prices.

Lemme think ...

One land line - I'm old-fashioned, I guess, can't imagine not having a land line, plus, we get very, very poor reception up here - $27.

Two cell phones and long distance service on the land line run us about $140.

Cable TV and Cable Internet connection: $120/month ($50 for Internet, the rest for TV). Two receivers, some sports channels, really not a whole lot.

Boy, ~$300/month. About on par with Lenas, though, now that I look at it. Must be a California thing.

oh crap... I almost forgot...

I prepaid for a year of Netflix in March and I have $7.99 a month for Hulu Plus

I didn't even think to include Netflix. I'd almost be more interested to see how many of us don't buy Netflix, or some similar service.

What do I pay? Or do you mean what am I charged? My work pays for my half of my phone bill. :D

- I'm charged just under 150.00 for two cell phones with unlimited data (and out of spite I make sure to remind Verizon I'm still on that plan every chance I get. I stream all music over it instead of my WiFi)
- I paid 29.99 for 40 Mbps down, 5 up for 3 years. Last month they finally bumped the charges up to about $70.00 (which was explained to me at the beginning of the promotion, but that's its final resting price).
- I pay ~ 24.00 for Netflix, Hulu plus, and Amazon Prime combined.

I don't use/subscribe to any cable, satellite, antenna, or voice land lines. In fact, I haven't paid for a voice land line since 2003. Hmm. Now that I think about it, I have been a broadband user since at least 1996 (I still have the dual channel ISDN modem on display at my desk). Ah, the joys of being a low ping bastard.
