Not really sure where to put this, so I'll stick it here I guess.

It's been years since I bought an item from Ebay, like 10+ years, and I only did so once. Outside of buying a dud item, are there any risks associated with using my credit card on Ebay to buy something now? Most items appear to be credit card/debit card via paypal. I really fear my credit card getting swiped in the process, so would like to hear any suggestions or what-not from others who have bought from Ebay sellers.

thanks.

eBay is notorious as a seller-unfriendly company because they are so fast to refund customer money. PayPal is extremely safe.

I use paypal to make ebay purchases on a regular basis.

Paypal is safe enough I think.

I have a low limit card I use solely for paypal and other online adventures.

Paypal actually stops your card going to the seller - only paypal has the details. In this way, Paypal is great.

Paypal kind of sucks in that they arbitrarily can decide what to do with your money - revoking it, refunding it, taking it out of your paypal account, etc - but you really can't lose more on an ebay deal through paypal than the item cost; and as said above, they tend to side with the buyer.
