Les Habs looked good in the shortened season and then got punched in the mouth in the playoffs, by Ottawa no less. It's gotta hurt that Toronto put up more of a fight. =P Do you root for the Bruins as one of the Original 6 teams or are they too big of a rival? I'd never root for the Yankees but I dunno if Montreal fans hate the Broons like Sox fans hate the Yankers. Who are the hated rivals for the Habs? And what's up with the Blue Jays? They've got a worse record than the Royals. Ouch. I guess last year wasn't all John Farrell's fault. (Taly's the only Candiens fan I know so the only one I can give crap to.) |

I can't speak for Montreal fans feelings about Boston. But I know Bruins fans hate Montreal. |

I don't normally hate Boston. I hate this Boston Bruins team. I hate Claude Julien. I hate Zdeno Chara (He should be in prison, not playing hockey). I hate Milan Lucic. In general, I don't mind cheering for the Bruins if the Habs are out. Of course, the same can be said for Chicago, a good original-six team. In light of the fact that Zdeno Chara can eat a bag of dicks and die, and I don't ever want to see his name on the cup again, I say, "Go 'Hawks!" The Jays have won 8 of their last 10 and have a bunch of injured players on their way back. Dickey's finally pitching alright, and they're only 5.5 games out of a wildcard spot, with over 90 games left in the season. I still have hope. |

Baseball is a funny game, and anything can happen this early. The Jays have a decent roster. It just depends on health and if they can get it together. Each of the 5 teams in the East have problems, and it's way too early to make an assumption on where they will end. It's easier for me to predict the obvious teams with major holes, and small enough payrolls that you know they aren't going to greatly improve. Like Houston, Seattle, Florida, etc. Those teams may continue to play hard, but they aren't gonna be there in the end. |

Looking better and better for the Jays, Taly. Almost back to .500 and the Yanks are slipping hard. I think in another week the Jays will overtake the Yanks, and maybe the Rays if they continue on this pace. By AS break, your team may be in the hunt for a WC spot. Meanwhile, my Yanks suck balls. A pitiful collection of washed ups with a whole team salary sitting on the DL. It's gonna be a long Summer for the "bombers" I'm thinking. |

The next 24 days until the all-star break are crucial for the Jays. They have just one off day, and 20 of the 23 games on the slate are against teams that are currently ahead of them in the standings. If they can win at least 13 of the 23, they should be right in the hunt. |

Meanwhile, here in Chicago, once the Blackhawks run is over for better or worse, all we'll have is the Cubs and White Sox... |

10 in a row. Two wins in two days since I posted above...21 to go to the all star break. 1 game over .500 for the first time all season... They've still got a long way to go to catch up, but they're making a good show of it. |

And now the Yanks take the last two from the Rays, while the Sox and O's lose. Man, the East is getting mighty tight. 5 games difference in the loss column, from top to bottom, and all 5 teams over .500 |

They're giving me hope. I must initially assume this is because it is better to dash the hopes of the faithful than it is to maintain the apathy of those who gave up a decade ago. |

I understand the hatred for Charo but I will point out the Pacioretty has come back at full strength so he's no Ulf Samuelsson. The Montreal criminal investigation was silly. Too bad the Jays ran into the buzz saw that is Jose Iglesias! The dude is batting .400 on infield singles and bloop line drives. (Yes, I said bloop line drives. Have you seen this guy hit?) He is amazing in the field, though. |
