The Braves will retire Chipper Jones's number tomorrow. In 5 years, we will see him inducted into Cooperstown.

Chipper Jones is unquestionably the greatest plate presence of the Modern Era.
Quote:
Jones stands with Stan Musial, Babe Ruth, Ted Williams and Lou Gehrig as the only players in Major League history to record at least 2,500 hits, 1,500 walks, 1,500 runs, 500 doubles, 450 home runs and 1,500 RBIs, while hitting .300 with a .400 on-base percentage and .500 slugging percentage.

I've never been a fan of the team but he has always been a player I respected.

I am a huge fan of Chipper Jones. I was at his first MLB game. I was at this first post-season game, Division Championship Game, League Championship Game, and World Series game. For the most part, he's always been a true class act, and for that I am supremely grateful. I am also grateful he played a 20 year career for my favorite team, the Atlanta Braves, and no other.

As a San Francisco Giants fan, I have nothing but respect for Chipper Jones! He is a very class act! He absolutely deserves to be in the Hall of Fame. :)
