To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the movie "Major League," the Lake County Captains -- Class A affiliates of the Cleveland Indians -- are giving away Jobu bobblehead dolls at their Aug. 1 game.

The Lake County Captains will give away 1,500 Jobu bobbleheads to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the movie "Major League."
The famous voodoo doll was used by fictional Indians outfielder Pedro Cerrano to help him finally hit a curveball.

"Every year, we figure out what moment in Cleveland sports history we're going to celebrate," said Neil Stein, assistant general manager for the team located in Eastlake, about 20 miles northeast of downtown Cleveland. "With the 25th anniversary, this was a natural."

The first 1,500 fans will get a family-friendly recreation of the Jobu doll, which doesn't have a cigar in his mouth as he did throughout the movie. The team will wear jerseys in the style of those used in the film. Fans will be able to bid on those jerseys, which will be auctioned off.

Stein said he has invited Corbin Bernsen, who played third baseman Roger Dorn, and Chelcie Ross, who played pitcher Eddie Harris, to attend the game, and has asked announcer Bob Uecker to send something to the team to auction off that night.

"Major League" did an inflation-adjusted $95 million at the box office in 1989, according to Box Office Mojo. The movie turned into more of a cult classic thanks to television reruns over the years.

In 2009, to celebrate Cleveland sports history, the Captains dared to recreate the famous Indians promotion gone wrong, Ten Cent Beer Night. The team actually served five-ounce beers for five cents but limited it to two cups per person, and the promotion lasted only an hour.
