So I get to participate on field for opening festivities for the Indians 2010 Home Opener. I have done this the past two years and it is amazing.

Here I am from 2008:

The real Cleveland Indian will always be a distant second place to the movie Major League.

That's fantastic! Do you get to stay at field level to watch the game, or do they herd you all out of the stadium?

We don't get to stay on the field for the game no (there are 200 of us) we have to go to our seats before the first pitch.

Yeah, I wasn't clear - maybe I should just ask, what kind of seats do you get?

They've bounced us around. First year was field level, second year was half-field level and half nose-bleed.

Ah, interesting. Guess it depends if they sell out, or how far in advance they fill sections.

Never been to an opening day. Some day.

So we had a cocktail reception for the people that are going to be on-field again this year. Last year it was food, Slider (our mascot doof) and some higher ups in the company.

This year they had special guests, Len Barker and Bob **** Feller! Right after introducing them they said they'd be signing autographs so I ran out to my car and grabbed the baseball out of my mitt (what you don't keep a ball and glove on you at all times?) and I now have Bob Feller's autograph in my collection.

I can't wait for tomorrow!

Good outing for Fausto, now if we could hit, field and have some semblance of a bullpen then I think we've got a shot at the the title!

I'll post pictures and a recap later

I thought your fielding was OK? At least, I saw a bunch of highlights on ESPN last night of some good outfield play.

I'm more concerned with our in-field. Choo hit well too.

Here are the photos:

My friend and I were in the player gauntlet when the team took the field. It was awesome.

Cool pictures. Looks like a fun time, especially being on the field with the players.

But, what's the big Wahoo flag? The comments said "History" - ?

It is from 1964 I want to say, it used to hang at the old Municipal Stadium. Its pretty well worn out which is why they store it downstairs.
