I am glad but not so optimistic for my Lions. |

The Pack's showing thus far in the preseason (I know, I know) has me pretty hyped. |

Hey, the Seahawks are 4-0 in pre-season. Maybe they can duplicate the Lions season last year and go undefeated in pre-season, and un-victorious in the regular season. |

The 49ers are 3-0 in preseason, fourth game tonight. Not looking overwhelming but better than they have for more than a few years. Even without the greedy moron Crabtree they stand a decent chance of making the playoffs. I'm happy, but not overly excited. |

Wow, I thought I was the only one around (even though I see tons of people in LA with big green G's, and I find myself wondering if they've been anywhere East of the Mississippi (much less north of LA)). But, yeah, this could be a fun year to watch the NFC North. Four (maybe 3.5?) good quarterbacks, so much incentive to stomp the Vikes. |

Aww, Polamalu sprained an MCL. Such a shame. |

Aethien: Yup, grew up in WI (literally about 100 yards east of the Mississippi); had to chuckle at myself that after about a year in SF, I started using the phrase "back east". |

Cool. I actually grew up on the East side of WI, so to speak, including graduating high school in the GB area. I've passed through the snowy inferno of Lambeau Field in the November of a losing season ... |

My first game at Lambeau was in late December - but we beat the bears, so that arctic chill was well worth it. |

(Actually, if I'm going to be honest, I fear the Bears defense will be just as dreadful as they were the past two years, and Rodgers and his receivers will decimate them... ) |

Heh, bet there was a bit of Blaze Orange in the stands that day, Vindicarre! Good luck, Slythe. Cutler will still be getting used to his surroundings, I think. Actually, his comments this week sound like he's already resigned to losing: Quote: "I've never been to the playoffs," Cutler said. "I've never been to the Super Bowl. But it all starts Sunday. There's that first one Sunday, and we'll just go back and regroup. We're looking forward to it. I think we have a great shot at it." Regroup? Man, you haven't even stepped out on the field yet!! |

You are reading WAY too much into that. He's speaking of the moment, of the game. After each game you go back and regroup. Don't tell me you're another Cutler hater...or are you just a Packers/Vikings/Broncos fan? |

I like Cutler. McDaniel is a Class A Moron. |

Lol, sorry "go back and regroup" is a poor choice of words at best. I've got nothing against Cutler. |

All I'll say is that the Bears' season will hinge on their defense, not their offense. Their offense should be improved from last year, but there was no indication that their defense took any step forward. I fear they will lose a great many 3X to 2X games. |

Not particularly a Cutler hater, just a Packers fan. I thought the little feud with Rivers last year was kind of silly, and Cutler came out looking much better, actually. A little more composed, let's say. I just thought it was a funny comment the way it came out. Don't worry, I'll probably be eating those words come Monday morning, as the Pack has to go back and regroup. I've lived through the dark times, so any success I see from the Pack is actually just a pleasant surprise, at this point. (Actually, I should really point out that I'm a baseball fan first, and usually don't pay a lot of attention to football until the middle of October or so. This year has been an exception for me.) |

They were dark times indeed...counting on Lynn Dickey aka Roboback...then cheering Majik...oh, the pain of Mandarich. The bright spots were few and far between, but one that shines through the years for me is Noble dropping the Fridge for a loss. |
