I'm torn on this. Overall, I think the eventual outcome of this is pretty much inevitable, even if A&M decided to stay, someone is eventually going to make a move that starts the dominoes falling, we've been on the verge of this for several years now with no sign of the talks going completely away. Lets face it, Texas is largely to blame for this, they are the ones who love to insist they are better and more important than everyone else in the Big 12, this isn't the first conference they've ran into the ground.
As much as I would love to see the conferences all stay the same, I also want to see a playoff system in college football. I'm starting to think the only way we may see some semblance of that system is to have 4 16 team "super-conferences" with a 4 team playoff coming at the end of the season. Bowls can still be played as well that way.
The caveat for me, as a fan of an SEC team, this means that an already brutal conference schedule is going to get that much more brutal, it's tough playing in a conference where you don't play any teams that you can count as a win going in.
