It's reported the LA Angels have signed Pujols (10yr/$254m) and CJ Wilson (5yr/$77.5m) wowza! |

I just saw this as well... the Angels have shocked the world... although that 10 year contract is going to look pretty damn bad 5 years from now. I mean, I understand Pujols is probably the greatest hitter the league has seen since Ted Williams, and maybe the greatest RHH of all-time, but in the post PED era handing out 10 years of guaranteed money to a man claiming to be 31, yet of dubious age, is lunacy. |

Yup, just channel-surfed past ESPN and saw the BREAKING NEWS headline. Wow. The LA Times today (in an article pointing out the lunacy of sports contracts) suggests that for the last half of his career, he may just end up being a DH. But, yeah, 10 years is a long contract for a 31-year old, even if that's his real age. Oh, and, "LA Angels of Anaheim," please. Don't sully the fine city of LA with a team that doesn't even play in our county, let alone city. |

I am pretty sure those two signings alone account for at least 66% of the Cleveland Indians payroll on an annual basis. |

Those two signings represent an outlay of something like $150 million more than Moreno (the Angels' owner) paid for the team back in 2004. He bought them for $183 million. |
