Prior to this, I wasn't sure who I wanted to win the NFC, but I just can't get past my immense disdain of Douchebag Harbaugh.... GO FALCONS ! |

Great, it's the Super 'Baugh. It's gonna take me two weeks to decide who I dislike more, Ray Lewis, or Jim Harbaugh. The deciding factor might be QB - I actually like Flacco, while Kaepernick kind of pisses me off. |

I disagree Khross, the calls were generally off, and Atlanta got away with at least as much junk as the Niners were called for. The officiating was barely mediocre today. |

The officiating has been horribly inconsistent. The refs need to let both teams play, especially in the playoffs. They need to keep the hanky in the pocket and not let ticky-tack marginal calls stall drives (or extend them). It was pointed out that every single 49ers scoring drive was extended by a penalty called on 3rd down. |

There was horrible officiating, but the call for Roughing the Passer when Caepernick intentionally stepped into a play on the ball was bullshit, especially since it extended the winning drive and Matt Ryan got bulldogged like he was WWE's Monday Night Raw on the next possession with no call. They missed two delay of game calls on San Francisco, one of which the defense had already broken formation on after the clock expired. I'm honestly beginning to think I shouldn't ever watch the NFL again -- the Harbaugh/Harbaugh Superbowl happened hell or high water and the officiating benefited the Ravens, too. In fact, Atlanta's 3 personal fouls in the NFC Championship and 8 total penalties were more penalties and yardage than they had in any 5 regular season games put together. |

The tears are delicious. 49ers will beat the Ravens in the SB and cement themselves as the best franchise in NFL history. 6-0, let's go! |

Matt Ryan's shoulder was separated, mildly, on that late hit ... the pass was complete before contact was made and the receiver down. No Roughing the Passer. Matt Ryan was BULLDOGGED like he was in the WWE, no roughing the passer. Both of Gonzales' arms were pinned before the ball was released on the last Falcons Pass, no holdings or pass interference. When the two teams with the least penalties in NFL history for a 16 game season rack up more questionable penalties and more in game penalties than they did in any single game, I have a problem with it. And that one first down the 49ers got after the Falcons broke formation when the play clock expired ... you can't tell me that was intentional. Even the 49ers receivers were backing out. |

Lenas, Did you have a sudden change of allegiance? Isn't your team the laughing stock of the NFL right now? You must be too young to remember the beatdown the 49's gave the Chargers in Super Bowl XXIX |

I mean sure, don't put yourself in a position where the Refs can lose you the game, but the 49ers would NEVER have been in a position to score if they didn't get important 3rd down conversions on penalties the Falcons don't make. |

Midgen, I was a 49er fan before I was a Charger fan. I maintain allegiance to both, but if they play against one another I'm Niners all the way. I'm also not too young to remember when they played each other in the SB, thank you very much. I was cheering my boys on wearing my Jerry Rice signed jersey and my Steve Young signed hat. Khross, I'm not being an *******, but as so many others have said on this board before: the calls got made, no use complaining about them. What's done is done. 49ers best franchise in the NFL. Only team with more than one appearance to remain undefeated in the big game. |

The only questionable calls I saw were the Harry Douglas "catch" and the Gonzalez no call on 4th down that ended the game. The Pats/Ravens seemed pretty even with maybe a slight edge to the Pats on the iffy calls. |

I can't stand Harbaugh, so its Ravens all the way. There's no way the 49ers win in this year of "Let's get Ray Lewis One More Ring". Just like 2005 when it was "Let's get Jerome Bettis a Ring Before he Goes" It is... inevitable. |

I think you're getting ahead of yourself if you're proclaiming them the "best franchise in NFL history", Lenas. If they win this championship, they'll be tied for what, third? They'll still have 3 to go to match the Bears. Just seven more and they'd be tied for first with the REAL best franchise in NFL history, the Green Bay Packers at 13. Talk to me when the 9'ers break double digits. |

Most SB wins by any team is 6, the Steelers. The 49ers have 5 wins. The 49ers are also the only team with more than 1 appearance in the SB to remain undefeated. If they win the next one, they'll be 6-0. When I say best, I mean Super Bowl wins, because that's what matters. That's what everyone strives for. |

If you look at your qualification "that's what everyone strives for", I'm sure you'll see what everyone was striving for prior to 1967. The "Superbowl" is the NFL Championship, and that Championship is "what everyone was striving for" since the inception of the league. I grant you the 9'ers may be in the running for best franchise of the "Superbowl era", or of the "non-salary cap era", but they've got a long way to go before they can claim to even be in the running for "best franchise in NFL history". |

What's better, 8 appearances and 6 wins (steelers) or 6 appearances and 6 wins (9-ers, if they win this one)? What about 2 superbowl wins (Ravens if they win) in 16 years for a ration of 0.125 vs 6 wins in 49 years (if the 9-ers win) for a ratio of 0.122? |

Being defeated is not better than being undefeated. |
