**** the NFL ...

Guy making a play on a ball brushes Capernick's face mask and gets the PF.

Ryan gets hit late, ref's ignore it.

Gonzales's arms are pinned by his defender, ref's ignore it.

Ryan gets tackled by two people grabbing his helmet -- no call.

**** YOU REFS.

Can't blame the refs. Atlanta blew a sizable lead for the second week in a row. If they had maintained their efforts, a bad call here or there (not that I really agree this was one-sided) wouldn't have mattered.

Besides, Atlanta winning would have just postponed the agony. There's no way the Atlanta sleep-through-the-second-half Falcons can beat the Ravens. The Ravens are a second-half team.

It's for the best.

You can let go of the frustration on the face mask thing. While I hate that call, especially like the one that got flagged, the refs have been consistent on calling that all season. I hate that rule but it's not the ref's fault.

Smack a guy in the helmet or face mask with some force and intent? Throw the flag. Barely touch either because of the way you are falling or because the QB moved? Dumb.

On the Roughing the Passer thing, Arathain, I'm not nearly as miffed that the one got called against Atlanta when Caepernick nodded his head to draw the flag as I am the two that should have been called against the 49ers which weren't.

Matt Ryan got bulldogged -- the defender wrapped his arm around Ryan's helmet and drug him to the ground, and no call at all.

Matt Ryan got hit after the play was over -- the pass was already complete before contact was made, which should have drawn the same call that turned that 3 and 15 into an automatic first down on the winning 49ers drive.

And the no call on Gonzales was such spectacular bullshit, because it should have 1st and Goal on the 1 with 4 downs to win the game for Atlanta. We didn't blow a lead so much as the 49ers had scoring drives that should have ended by penalty calls that were bleh.

Douglas's catch is only questionable if the helmet catch is questionable.

Well, I don't have any video to study, so... meh.

Still, I think it's better to lose narrowly in the NFC Championship than to get spanked in the Superbowl.
