Felix threw a gem against the A's on opening day... again The Mariners seem to have upgraded their offense this off season. Hopefully their pitching staff won't be completely fail, and they still have some defense. If so, it should be a fun year. I'd be happy with 85-90 wins. I have to read them. I have to read everything. :p Noone whines about football threads because football doesn't suck as hard as baseball. Or even hockey. |

Blue Jays are actually favored to win the AL East, for the first time in a long time. (It will be 20 years this October since Joe Carter's walk-off home run vs. the Phillies). However, the AL East is the toughest, most unforgiving division in baseball, so I take nothing as a given! 2012 NL Cy Young winner and the only knuckleballer in baseball starts off the season for Toronto tonight. I need to find a live bootleg stream. I don't have cable/satellite and MLB's internet viewing package is blocked in Canada... |

I scared my kids when Kershaw hit his bomb. We were driving on a kind of twisty freeway, and I started high-fiving my daughter in the backseat and clapping, and my son says "Dad, put your hands back on the wheel!" I got a little carried away. I'm just along for the ride, hope the Dodgers do as well as their potential says they should. Not looking forward to a long season of Yankees suckage, though. I'll be pulling for Baltimore, if they do. |

4 runs in a game is slightly under the average. I wouldn't say cleveland's bats looked particularly good or bad last night. Justin Masterson, however, pitched a great six innings to spoil Toronto's home opener. Either Toronto's bats were sleeping, or that guy's got stuff. |

Fantastic at bats I'd say Patience, patience, patience and picking your pitches. Talya wrote: Justin Masterson, however, pitched a great six innings to spoil Toronto's home opener. Either Toronto's bats were sleeping, or that guy's got stuff. Masterson got himself into two train wreck situations early and then settled in nicely but he can't count on double plays or he is going to end up paying the price. Our defense made 5 amazing plays for the guy though. |
