Read more on the complications of LASIK, and I will definitely be holding off on pursuing it until they perfect it a bit more.

Because they're uncomfortable, annoying to wear during sports, cut down on peripheral vision, cost an arm and a leg, and fog up in the winter/summer?

Plus, since I had PRK I get about 90% less headaches than I used to...

My wife had it done around 8 years ago IIRC.......other than some dry eye, she's done very well. Before the operation she was blind as a bat, now she can see extremely well. When she had it done I had 20/20 vision........now she can see 20/20, and my old age has made it to where I need reading glasses or I can't see **** :?

Get a good doctor and don't skimp on one of those fly by night cheap operations. We paid top dollar back then, but it was worth it.

Glasses are great for most things, my gripes are having to deal with sunglasses, cycling, etc...

The trouble with glasses:
Lack of peripheral vision.
They steam up if I try to look at what I'm cooking
They frost over when I go in after being out in the cold
They leave bruised divots on my nose
Every baby in the word wants to grab and yank them
They are constantly getting dirty and need cleaning
They get borked when I wear a headset
I can't shower with them on, so any shaving is done blind
If I have to get up in the middle of the night I either have to find glasses or walk blind
When trying to see in tight spots (like behind a computer) you cant get them positioned to be actually useful
You always have to make sure you have a safe place to put them if you take them off
Any time you may be involved in a physical activity (like sex) you have to decide: glasses smudged, knocked off, possibly broken? Or do it blind?

So I had my 1 week follow up today. I am now 20/20 in one and 20/15 in the other. So in one eye I can see better than I ever did even with glasses. It is amazing the difference between the two, 20/20 seems crappy when you compare them side by side. Still healing so it may still change.
