It was my first year to take my daughter trick-or-treating. It was the ex's turn last year and he had taken her when we were together while I handed out candy.

He dropped her off at 6 PM tonight. She has a 101-deg. fever and a cough and looks terrible. And, as usual, he had her out and about today.

So I gave out candy, and she did some trick-or-treating with me in the house ("Mommy - trick or treat!!" "Here you go!"), and she's now snuggled on the couch in front of the TV.

I canceled plans to have friends and their kids over tomorrow, and have notified the other rapier marshal that I can't make practice on Monday night. *le pout*

Now to go back downstairs and cuddle with her. (And darn it - my H1N1 vaccination was only on Thurs., so it's useless to me if that's what she has.)

Thats a bummer. :( I'm sorry she does not feel well. At least you were awesome enough to get over the disappointment and still make it fun by trick-or-treating in the house.
Get well soon!

Bummer, Serienya. My son was sick the last couple of days, and he missed the costume parade yesterday at his school. But, I kept him at home, unlike your dumb-shit ex!

She's more active, but her fever keeps spiking. No school for her tomorrow and I'll be missing work. (Since it's a flu-like illness, I get a free pass.)

We colored together and watched TV, enjoyed the fire in the fireplace, and I surprised her with the new Tinkerbell DVD (I'd gotten it for Xmas, but oh well!). Whatever it takes.

Hoping I can run us down to my office to grab my laptop, though.

Darn - after 15 hours with no fever, she is currently holding at 100.8. *sigh*

But at least she's napping.

She told me yesterday and today that a new toy would make her feel better. Little manipulator! (No, we have not gone out for one.)

Lol! Seri, my boy had h1n1 and had no symptoms other than a fever...it came and went for about 5 days.
Maybe this is the case with your little one?

That's my guess, but it could be one of the other viruses circulating that causes similar symptoms. Either way, treatment is the same at this point. Rest, fluids, and ibuprofen/acetominophen as needed. :)

Happily, she's had all three today.
