I dislike housework and I'm kind of lazy about it since I only have to keep it to my own standards. So now instead of going out on visitation i'm cleaning floors and throwing stuff away like mad because it's gotten to the point where it really bugs me. I need to get better about this and pick up when I don't have better things I should be doing.

Simple solutuion: start inviting people over. You'll spruce the place up before they come by.

Of course, if you don't give a damn what others may think, this may not be a solution...

I do. That would probably help My beef is if I had done this yesterday instead of cooking and being lazy, then I could go do important stuff.

I want a maid...that would solve my "this place is so cluttered I'm going crazy" and my "I don't care how cluttered this place is because I am so tired" dilemma.

Well on the bright side, I do have shinier floors, threw away a bunch of junk i've been holding onto for no good reason, and found room in the closet for some of my boneyard machines. The bedroom closet still needs looking to though but i guess that's another day. Also I still need a table for the aquarium project.

Are you for hire? I am not so good at throwing things out, I tend to move it to another place..

Heh, with 2 cats that shed like mad, and a golden retriever that puts the shedding cats to shame, if I don't vacuum at least once a week the house is unlivable. I love having hardwood floors and all, but sometimes the dust bunnies that float by if we slack rival your average oil tanker.

Been getting better about pitching stuff I don't use or need as well. One nice thing is that we get hit up every month or so for donations to various charitable orgs. We just save stuff up and bag it, and leave it for them to swing by and retrieve.

Two cats, and Shel and I both have long hair. I finally broke down and got a Dyson and love it. I vacuumed with my old one first, then went over it immediately with the Dyson. Amazing how much stuff was still there! I got the DC17 with the 'animal' upgrade package.

Oh my wife and I have had a Dyson for a few years now, hands down the best vacuum I've ever used. Right now the dog (Dresden) is, I think, blowing out his coat. The house is maybe 1500 sq. ft, and he doesn't go in my office or our bedroom, but we still fill the canister on the vacuum twice.
