I did Facebook once, to "get inside the wall," as Midgen says. But then folks started to find me, throw snowballs at me, invited me to be friend, etc. and I found it kind of weird, so I killed the account. Just didn't feel the need to stay connected, I guess.

My wife is on it a lot, posts pictures, etc. Walking near our kids' school one day, a woman walks up to me and says, "Are you (so-and-so)?" Um, yeah ... turns out she was a friend of my wife from back in junior high, and they'd gotten re-acquainted through Facebook, but hadn't actually seen each other yet. She recognized me from pictures my wife had posted. It was weird.

I think if potions of invisibility really existed, I'd be chugging them all day.

Yeah...online dating sites can be a very good thing. Sure, 95% of them are stupid, can't get a date, or are not attractive or have a major flaw, but that's also true of the people in bars.

I'd rather say I met someone on-line than I met them at a bar when we were both drunk on our asses, or at a strip club, etc.

Pretty much a honorable way to meet, in my opinion, seeing's how one's faculties aren't impaired at the time.

Meeting people in bars is difficult... I need to work on that eventually. I do coffee shops, sidewalks, etc.

The more and more I wish to delete my FB account, the more I realize I'd lose touch with so many people. I know damn well that I probably wouldn't keep in touch with the majority of my friend's list if I delete my account. There are just too many acquaintances out there. I have a hard time keeping in touch with all of my close friends. Surely, those acquaintances would disappear into the abyss.

However, I really dislike having a FB account. I'm beginning to regret having some of the people I have on my friend's list. Let's say I only had my best friends on my FB account. I could say anything in my status updates, without ever hesitating. The moment one person from my family enters FB via friend request, I now must censor what I say. The same could be said for many strangers and acquaintances that friend me. I really don't like this aspect of FB. It's not limited to just status updates. There are many times I'd prefer to keep a picture discreet between my close friends. As it stands, I simply don't post the pics due to family and randoms looking at it. It's only my fault for adding them, but that's just what happens on FB. I feel bad deleting them as friends though, as they're family...and probably a lot more serious about FB than I am, so they may take offense.
