Screw this.
I want to stay in bed but I can't. I have to go to church and make nice so I won't ruin my MIL's Mother's Day. (She is a very sweet lady.)
This is my first Mother's Day without my mother, and my first mother's day since Jimmy died. My son decided to go to his Dad's house for the weekend and I couldn't get ahold of them last night to see if he wanted to go to church with me, so, no son. I spent last night shopping with my stepdaughter for a present for her mother and then had to badger her brother into helping her wrap it...it was like pulling teeth. Ungrateful teenager didn't really seem to give a crap about his mother.
I woke up this morning and didn't even get a "Happy Mother's Day" from my husband. I'm not likely to get anything from my stepkids either...not even a "good morning." (No, my husband did not take them shopping to get me anything or did he get me anything.)

**** this. Mother's Day SUCKS.

Thanks ya'll. Mothers day still sucks. But I did get a call from my son about 3 hours after I posted this, and hearing his sweet little voice made it lots better.
This is still the worst day I've had in 6 months though.
Tomorrow is another day.

I got to clean. And do laundry. And clean. And arrange for an exterminator, replace a deadbolt that went 'splody, and do more cleaning...

But I got 15 kisses this morning and took us to a movie.

Ugh! That sounds like too much work on Mother's Day.
But 15 kisses eh? Sweet! :D

My son just took his dog for a walk and I was wondering what took him so long because it was dark when he finally walked in....he handed me a necklace he had made out of clovers for me for Mother's Day. *sniffle* Can't believe I even complained at all today. I am so blessed. :)

It's the little things that mean the most!!

My son called me this morning on his way to work...I wish my stepson would call me...just once.

Yay for your son being sweet. :)

Yeah, I had to get work done. There's no one else and not enough time to do it. My mom and grandmother arrive in a week, and the house is a disaster. (And the vacuum cleaner died, grr!)

I would have liked to hear from Jake. I guess they don't have telephone service on aircraft carriers when they are out to sea.

Sorry you had a crappy day LK.

I'm of the opinion that "Hallmark holidays" should be given as much value as the Hallmark cards that are their name-sake. So about $1.50 worth of attention. YMMV.

They do, you can even buy one of these to help pay for it. That said, the amount of bandwidth available or the number of phones might simply have been inadequate for Mother's Day demand, or he might just not have been able to get to a phone at a reasonable hour of the day for one or the other of you.

Also, depending what, if any degree of EMCON the battle group is under, use of the phones might be prohibited.

I hope that, in the end, it turned out positively for you ladies.

Mother's Day was being celebrated long before Hallmark (or any mass market greeting cards) came around.

This has been the worst week I've had in 6 months.
After 5 hours in the ER last night I came home and miscarried our "rainbow baby."
Thursday is my 30th birthday and we can't really afford to do anything this year and on Friday my siblings are all getting together at our childhood home for one last goodbye before they pass the keys off to the new owner and I can't be there.
This is a seriously shitty week.
