From Phe's dad this morning: "He remains in a deep coma and on life support." The bad news is that he hasn't gotten any better, though I suppose the good news is that he hasn't gotten any worse.

Watts is charged with 1 count aggravated assault under Nathan's Law with a 1 million dollar bond and leaving scene of accident with $500,000 bond, for a total 1.5 million dollar bond. Both charges are felonies. The charges will go up if Henry Allen Lutrick dies.

Watts had dropped his wife off at the hospital for chemo treatment and was on his way back home when he hit the child. The chief says this is a road that Watts travels everyday and he knows it well.


Police say Watts is aware of what he did, and he expressed remorse.

Thank you all for the prayers and thoughts. Please continue to pray for my aunt and uncle. I've been unable to reach them as they seem to have turned phones off, but my dad says they are not doing well and I'm worried for both them and the other kids.

Sorry Phe and Far. God be with you and your family through this difficult time.

My wife's sister lives in that area, and has two children. I don't think they attend the same school, though. My nephew is Allen's age, and they travel that road a lot. I haven't talked to them lately, so not sure if they knew Allen.

This story is incredibly sad all the way around.
