Here's a hypothetical situation. You have a baby. You have money to take care of things. You have no where else to be.

Can you take care of that baby without help? Can you find ways to take a shower and do the other things that need to be done around the house on your own?

My wife always managed to find ways to put the baby down when I wasn't at home or something like that. They don't need to be cuddled every single minute.

<<<<<<<<<<<obviously not a mother.......but I have been called one (if you add another word with it)
I imagine that a mother can do what needs to be done along side of tending a baby. I'd also imagine it would be taxing, if she had to do everything alone. She could do some cleaning, and take a bath, although I imagine the nature is to worry about leaving a baby unattended for long. I'd also imagine that it would wear a mother down, as if done right, it takes a lot of attention taking care of another 24/7. Might also be why most mothers age quite rapidly.

Not sure where this is going, but I imagine she could use a bit of help, but yes, she should be doing what needs to be done either way. Be mindful though. Vinegar, honey, bees, etc.......or something.

Yes. Toddlers are harder to manage this way than babies.

How young is the baby? Is this potentially a post-partum depression scenario?

The answer, given the parameters is most likely yes. Give the differences in personalities, strengths and skills that happen among our species there will be some that couldn't handle it with all the help in the world and others that do handle it with less than you've listed. We aren't all the same. People forget that.

Yeah I could do that. When the baby is asleep, you take a shower/bath, clean house, etc. It's not easy but it is doable.

Duct tape and counter weights.

But seriously, it always comes down to this: If someone wants to do a thing, they'll find a way, and if they don't, they won't.

If I can chime in - I can. I can watch the two kids and do pretty much anything, with the exception of some projects like clean the pool, paint a room, etc.

My wife cannot. She just can't seem to manage it. It's a dealing-with-stress thing.

Now, I firmly believe that if I didn't exist, she would manage.
