Why must I always succumb to illness on Saturdays and Sundays? Why can't I be sick during the week (and thus take a day or two off) like normal people? No, instead I spend all day Saturday and Sunday in bed, and then get back to relative normality just in time for work. Sigh. |

You, sir, need to take Monday and Tuesday off, just to be sure. |

I have been known on occasion to call in sick. It's not even lying. I'm sick of work, so I'm not coming in today. |

Well, it's also made more difficult to call in sick when I work from home 99% of the time. "Oh, gee, boss, I'm sorry, I don't feel like walking the twenty feet from my bed to the computer. Or, uh, just working on my laptop from bed." |

Do you get flex days? If so, work on the days you’re sick and simply take the ones you’re not off |

I used to have a boss that would say "If you don't feel like coming to work, don't. call it a 'Mental Health Day'." That is all find and dandy if you have the PTO to burn. |

I hear ya. I went to bed last night after the last day of our 14 day tour, and felt that familar scratch in the back of my throat. Woke up this morning to have it worse but still not all that bad. Better not be getting sick for my time off! It's Christmas! |

I've been sick for like the last two weeks. I think I'm finally getting over it now. I was hoping to be through it when finals week came, but oh well. |
