The Glade 4.0

I was off work Sat through Wed.

I had a critical deadline on Monday, so worked very late on Friday to get it done, so I didn't have to blow my plans and come in. I worked until about 2AM Friday night. Got it nearly done - just some minor things to clean up and update the report. I took my laptop home so I could handle this from home. Got home around 3, went to bed.

Sat: Kids got me up around 7-7:30. I've been redoing the family room, kitchen, dining room, and living room - nearly done. Finished patching holes from a wiring project in the family room. Prepped and primed the walls. Painted the walls in the kitchen and family room, 2 coats. Finished around 2 am, took a shower, went to bed.

Sun: Kids got me up around 7:30. Touched up walls, prepped and painted the trim in the family room and kitchen. Around 10:30PM I fired up my laptop to finish the project for submission Monday. Data transfer was too slow to open the files. Off I go to the office. Got there around 11:30, finished my work and got home by 3:30AM.

Mon: Wife had to work so was up ~6:30 with the kids. Was dad all day, and started putting the house back together. Went out with the kids to finish our Christmas shopping. When wife got home, I put the new entertainment center together. Finished up around 2AM.

Tuesday: Slept until 8:30. Put TV/entertainment center area together, wired up surround sound, put the house back together, cleaned the crap out of it. Helped wife with wrapping and setting up for Christmas. Place looks awesome. Finished up around 3AM.

Wed: Got up around 7:30, did Christmas with the kids. Family started trickling in around 10 - everyone left around 6:30. Cleaned up, was done and in bed by 10pm.

And boy did I sleep. Now I'm at the office, only a couple of people are here. I have some minor things to get done here today, nothing pressing. Clients are all off, so no calls likely. I've got coffee and a heavy snowfall to watch outside my window. House is cleaner than ever, looks nicer than ever. I have movies and toys to play with when I get home - nothing else. All goals met, all deadlines hit. I don't think I've ever been so relaxed in my life. Merry Christmas to me.

But wow was I tired.
