This sucks monkey goats.

Pregnancy makes some women snore like chainsaws. My wife is no exception. I can't do Jack about it. I can't force her to change position, because that's hard on her (and wouldn't help anyway). I can't go sleep in a different room, because then I emotionally and physically abandon her. I can't tell her what my problem is, because then she'll be upset over something she can't control and feel bad about herself.

Being a very light sleeper sucks. I'll just have to suffer in silence and rant to you guys.

You put this on the internet, and from what I gather, she's not stupid, Numbuk. Doesn't she know about the Glade and Numbuk Rangerfriend, the Ogre Shaman?

On the couch, with earplugs. I spent a lot of time like that with my wife's pregnancy. Make sure the couch is comfy to sleep on, if it isn't, get one that is.

My husband never complained about my snoring when I was pregnant and I never complained about his. I actually found it comforting, knowing he was there next to me alive and well. As Micheal said, sleep on the couch, but wait until she is asleep before moving if you are worried about alienating her.

You really should talk to her about this though. I really can't believe she would be so upset about this if you explain that it is keeping you awake and you need to sleep elsewhere. Maybe I'm just different than other women, in that I don't take these things so seriously. Live and let live is my motto.

She knows of the ogre and the community but has never really gone searching for it beyond a little bit before our marriage. I posted that in a fit of frustration and sleep deprivation. Was more letting off steam if anything.

It's still quite possible this thread will disappear.

I wouldn't worry about it bud. It isn't like you are calling her horrible names or blaming her for the downfall of man kind because you are not sleeping well.

I get the whole "pregnant women are crazy" thing, but you should be able to talk to her. That way, if you need to sleep in another room one night, she won't think it's because she's getting fat.

A combo of those nose breathing strips (for her) and ear plugs (for me) worked for that problem.

Man logic isn't always compatible with woman logic. And pregnant woman logic is in a whole other dimension.

Some women will feel bad that they are affecting you at all, and will blame themselves over something they can't control. And will feel bad about it. Even if you tell them not to. And by physically removing your comforting and reassuring presence? That can make it worse.

No, I know better. I'll survive with noise cancelling headphones and music. Just can't toss and turn too much with them.

I love my wife very much, and this is just me venting a little bit. Her good qualities far outweigh any minor inconveniences and she puts up with far more **** from me than I her. So I really have no real room to complain.

Well, you know your situation best. But if its making you stressed / cranky, that might be worse. Good luck!
