She succumbed to a bacterial infection in her gut that had caused severe gastroenteritis. She hadn't been feeling well for about a week or so, but she was still eating and drinking, and just seemed a little out of sorts. Wednesday, she had a bout of bloody diarrhea as well as some severe vomiting, and we rushed her to the vet. Got her on antibiotics, and anti nausea meds, and I thought she was getting better as of last night, she was breathing heavily, but it was likely she was in pain from the bowel issues. I went over to mom's at lunch about 4, and I thought we might lose her, but I still had hope. Went back over after work, and comforted her some more, and thought she looked better, less labored breathing, etc. About 1045 I got a call from mom telling me that she had passed away. Just stopped.
I'm just wrecked.
