I just started the Autodesk Civil 3D 2010 installer on this computer .... 3 hours and 3 DVDs later, it's still not done installing. This is a reasonably fast dual-core system with plenty of RAM and a fast (but not, say, Raptor fast) hard drive. The installation time of Autodesk's main application suites is just absolutely unreal! Everything was fine until about AutoCAD 2007. I thought 2008 was excruciating at around 1 to 1.5 hours, but they've really outdone themselves this time. <insert rant about how shitty Microsoft .NET is here> |

Bloatware, man. It's brutal. And it's only going to get worse. |

Until you have to program in it. |

I have very little issues installing Revit Architecture 2010 or AutoCAD Architecture 2010 on systems. The image takes a little bit to set up, and can be a bit cumbersome with how it recognizes network resources, but the installation itself is pretty quick, about 30 minutes for either package. |
