The Glade 4.0

I have a plastic bag under a table in my computer room that I put old clothes in for donation. My dogs love to pull that bag out into the doorway.Last Wednesday night they did it again. I got my feet tangled up in that bag and went head first into the hallway wall and floor. Quick trip to ER...fractured humerus and a knot on my forehead.

Last night I was swelling up on my broken right arm, both legs and was fighting a low level fever, so I called and got an appointment for today. The doctor had me do a blood clot test. He just called...normal is around 500...mine?...2000! I'm scheduled for an ultrasound at 6:30 tonight. If they find clots it's into the ED for anti-coagulants.

Crap, Jasmy. Good luck, hope the clots come out negative. Even if you don't have clots, you may need the regular blood thinners that they give to folks in danger of stroke. Or is this a passing thing?

The ultrasound went well, no clots were found! The tech suggested using an ice pack for the pain and swelling, which has helped a lot.

I have broken my pinkie toes many times over the years. This is the first time in 62 years for a major bone fracture. Because of my age they have scheduled a bone density test for me.

Thanks for your thoughts and well-wishes guys. Almost makes it worth the pain!

So sorry to hear of your injuries. I hope the doctors can help you heal up quickly with as little complications as possible.

I took a header down a full flight of stairs at work a week ago, so I can totally commiserate.

(I rolled an ankle just as I stepped off the landing onto the top step and went all the way down to the bottom. Just bruised, thankfully, as far as I can tell.)

I found out yesterday that I will need surgery on my left elbow to repair nerve damage. I just hope it can wait until my right arm is healed!

Holy Necropost Raell...er, I mean Batman!

Well, my right shoulder has healed very well. I still have months of physical therapy ahead of me to get full range of motion and get rid of the remaining pain. I had surgery on my left elbow on April 18th to relieve pressure on the nerves. Now I have months of physical therapy (sound familiar?) to get full use of my left hand. My plans for a road trip to Montana in May to see my brother and sister are obviously on hold.
