Work is work.
Reorganized again this summer. Got a new manager (someone I trained. Yay.) And me and my partner in crime were basically told that we couldn't move up to working on stuff with more visibility/importance because the grunt work still needed to be done, and gosh darn it, we were just so good at it. (We have a combined total of 33 years of experience, including the work we wanted to be doing.) Meanwhile, the people doing the other work were getting awards and promotions, and just dumping the actual work on me and the PiC whenever they could.
Fast forward to last week. PiC is transferring out of the dept, and now it's just me to handle the grunt work. So part of that will be shifted to our European counterparts, and I'll get to do cooler work because they are panicking that I will leave too.
Also, another dept gave me a $200 spot award for heppin'. More than I've gotten from my own lately...
