I was thinking about something, not five minutes ago. And I recall it being a rather important thought. I was contemplating something. The dogs came inside and I got up to put them in their crates and sit down. Then I go back to thinking, only I can't **** remember what I was thinking about. It couldn't have been that important since the thought disappeared so easily, but I can't shake the feeling that it was important to remember. And now I'll be thinking about this all night and I likely won't be able to get any sleep because this will be bothering me so much. Anger and rage, I swear to god.

I find that if I go on to other things, and try not to actively think about it eventually it will come back to me.

Sometimes re-starting your original steps can jog your memory too.
