1) he’s never in, in the year and quarter he’s been here, he has an attendance rate of around 40%. 2) my boss’ boss is way too nice and doesn’t want to confront him because of all my manager’s ‘bad luck’ 3) during the time he’s been here, he’s been to the GP for morphin shots 3 times, had 2 kidney stones, had a divorce, taken the kids to the hospital countless times, had to work from home due to illness, had 2 car accidents and moved house twice. Most of these are not 1 day away affair and usually take a minimum of 2 days to do. 4) He only officially takes days off for holidays, meaning all the above in 3 are unaccounted for. To top things off, the icing on the cake being recently he looks to be on drugs. I’ve had to tell him things over and over with him looking at me in an extremely confused way. I’ve had to prepare a big telecom with the big boss and 30min before it, I essentially feed him everything he wants to say or talk about and provide all the evidence. In the last 2 weeks, he’s changed his mind about an application that should have gone in last month… not 1… not 2, but 5 goddamned times~! I presented him with the facts and my recommendation and I’m always wrong. Guess what he decides to do in the end /facepalm. To top it off, his personal life bugs me. I know it shouldn’t and I should be professional, but the fact that he divorced his wife to propose to his 25 year old, model gf bugs the hell out of me >.< Did I mention he’s been paid more than twice what I am and I’ve been left doing all his crap… /grrrr~!!! If I didn’t just buy a house I’m seriously tempted to just quit… |

I've been CCing some of the stuff to our big manager and just yesterday I had a 'meeting' with my manager. Basically he told me in no uncertain terms that he was my superior, no one else matters as it's his job to report to the big boss and he doesnt want to be copied in to all the small stuff. Also if I wanted a pay rise I better be a 'team player' ... *sigh* I then asked him to help out with some of the work as I'm getting snowed under, and the short of what he told me was that the work was below his manager status and I would understand once I got to be one... *wishes for ability to ***** slap with mind* Today, he left early cause he was feeling 'unwell' ... again... |

Blackmail is a crime in the US. Though I doubt you can tape him without his consent, if you can prove the blackmail, he'll be gone. |

He told her to do "her job" or she won't get a raise. That's pretty much what work is all about... With that said, it blows chunks working for a shitty wanna-be boss |

I think you missed the first post Hop... I was copying in things to the big boss because my manager wasn't coming in to the office at all to do his job. It was emails about things he needed to come in to handle, as I've been up to that point handling it for him. He's not here today, (again) but I feel better. |

Just stop doing your boss' job for him. Make sure you cover your own *** though. Email him with issues and say "Bob, I need you to take care of this issue as I don't have the access/juice/whatever to take care of it. Let me know when you got it, so I can do my part" or similar. Keep a copy for yourself in a file So if anything comes back, you can say Oh gee whillikers, I asked bob to handle that a week ago. Here, Yeah, I sent him 2 emails on it. on the 3rd, and the 5th. |

Either my boss is too good at his job, or I’m not skilled enough at procrastinating… e.g. We have had this medicine label review coming up for the last 6 month. He agreed to do it so I could be free to do the other things he’s delegated to me. It’s now a month late and I ended up doing it just cause if it’s not done then the **** will blow the fan and I’d probably end up doing it anyways… Another example being he was responsible to talk to one of our suppliers about a specific product. After a meeting with the lawyers of the other place which I participated, nothing further’s happened. This was on his list too and it’s been a year. Bad thing is, he knows that by dragging things out, I’ll eventually find time to do it just so **** doesn’t hit the fans >.< He’s really good at smooth talking and has a way of making everything sound okay… *sigh* he’s been at this for a lot longer than I have… I’ll give it another months or so, if I don’t get my pay rise, I’m gonna start looking for another job I think. |

interesting fact of the day. My accent is a lot thicker when I'm pissed off and telling people off, to the point where my US friends have trouble understanding me... |
